Theeyyal

Ingredients

• Snake gourd(medium size)- 1
• Small onion-1 cup
• Green chilly-1
• Turmeric powder-1 ½ tsp
• Chilly powder-1 tsp
• Coriander powder-2tsp
• Grated coconut-1 cup
• Tamarind-small lemon size
• Mustard-½ tsp
• Red chilly-2
• Jaggery-a small piece
• Curry leaves-a few
• Salt to taste

Preparation

• Soak tamarind in water
• Cut snake gourd into small pieces
• Fry coconut with curry leaves till golden brown
• Then add chilly and coriander powder,sauté
• Grind it well
• In a pressure pan pour 2 tsps of oil
• Fry small onion and snake gourd
• Add tamarind juice,salt and pressure cook
• Then add ground coconut to it
• A small piece of jaggery and cook till gravy is thick
• Fry mustard,red chilly and curry leaves and add to the curry
