Prawns - 15 pieces
Drumstick - 10 2” pieces
Grated coconut - 1 ½ cups
Chilli powder - 1 ½ teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Tamarind - very small lemon size
Tomato - 2
Green chillies - 3
Ginger - 1 small piece
Curry leaves - a few
Sliced Shallot - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 2 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
salt to taste
preparation
• Clean the prawns.
• Put prawns and drumstick pieces in a pan
• Soak tamarind in a cup of water for 5 minutes
• Grind the coconut and make a fine paste
• Squeeze tamarind, take the essence with water and add to the prawns
• Add chilli powder and turmeric powder
• Cut tomato in to small pieces and add to the prawns
• Add green chilli and ginger
• Boil these until half cooked.
• Add ground coconut ,salt and boil it until fully cooked
• Heat oil in a pan ,let mustard seeds splutter,
• Add,curry leaves, sliced shallots and fry for some time
• Pour into curry and mix well
• Remove from fire
